KOL mapping, interviewing, medicine access and workshop design all form part of a busy year at Pivotal

October 2013 Update. What’s going on in Pivotal? (08/10/13)
Life in Pivotal 4pharma has been very busy over the past 12 months, but that’s no excuse for the long time since we last updated our blog. We resolve to do better.

Working with a company specializing in KOL mapping, interviewing of international experts in a number of different disease areas has continued to give us steady work. This has involved us interviewing experts in a number of different disease areas, including heart failure, hepatitis C, glioblastoma, lung cancer and gastric cancer; additionally we worked on a very interesting project looking at access to medicines in the emergency medicine area.

Workshop design and facilitation has been another aspect to our work over the past 12 months. Supporting a Medical Communications agency, we have been involved in workshops in the market access and diabetes areas. On the market access side of things, we were involved in supporting an International Pharma company who were looking to introduce a consistent approach to developing Core Value Dossiers (CVD) across different disease areas. By working with HQ and affiliate staff, through the running of two workshops, a new CVD template was developed and rolled out across the business. Building on this, and utilizing much of the experience Tim’s gained over the years, we have also been involved in the development of CVDs, particularly from a strategic perspective with respect to crafting new Value Propositions and Value Messages.

Recently, we won a contract from major Pharma in the breast cancer area, providing insights into patient segmentation in the metastatic disease area and developing commercially orientated slide sets for use at up-coming workshops.

Tim has continued to attend relevant scientific congresses, primarily in the breast cancer area. With so much going on at the moment in breast cancer, with exciting new data and product launches, it is important that this continues as an ongoing activity – Tim attended St Gallen earlier in 2013 and has just registered for the European Breast Cancer Congress in Glasgow in Q1 next year.
